‘Aqui’ speaks on the feeling of not being here nor there. It’s an homage to everyone who has made a home somewhere outside of their home. As I knew that Marco wanted to hang this piece on his bedroom wall, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use this feeling and utilize the colors and motifs found in his home for his commission. The lamb represents an innocence that is almost like the Fool card in tarot, jumping forward without even looking ahead, trusting its way between one chair and the ghost of the other, from one place to the other. To connect again to the place where this painting will be hung, marking a place of sleep, rest, and restoration and connecting to this idea of innocence and trust in the future. There is also a mythical lullaby element to this piece as well and its probably my favorite of the set! - Antonia x
