"I felt incredibly inspired after painting Primavera that I wanted to give her a sister.
So I created Orvalho, a painting dedicated to rest and regeneration. Recently I have been feeling much more in need of solitude, which is a new feeling for me. I have always wanted to be around people and I’ve always felt my best when I was surrounded. This sudden urge to be alone, to be in my own space, to be in my own bubble, all feels very new and I am still learning how respect it.
I believe that this painting really reflects that, this idea that we all need some sort of divine symbol of revival. This to me is the morning dew, the orvalho, the cold mist that revitalizes the soil after the dark night." - Antonia xx
